The New Covenant

At Abundant Grace we teach God's Word from a New Covenant perspective!

This Covenant was announced by Jesus Himself when He introduced the Lord's Supper.   He said "This cup is the new covenant in My blood.  This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me" (I Cor. 11:25).  The New Covenant was ratified when Jesus offered His own perfect blood on the cross as the propitiation (satisfaction for God's wrath against sin) for the sins of the whole world.  The offering of Christ's blood is superior to the sacrifice of animals' blood under the Old Covenant, for it did not cover our sins as under the old way, but it took our sins away!

Much Christian teaching today recognizes that we are under the New Covenant, but then imposes that which was directed under the Old Covenant.  The result is confusion, both for Christians and non-Christians alike.  At Abundant Grace we teach the New Covenant and all that it embodies for us today!

The following are just a few of the passages that if properly understood and received, will change your understanding, your way of thinking, and your life!

II Corinthians 5:17-19  (probably one of the best in aiding understanding)  "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.  Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation."

Romans 5:17  (AGF banner verse!)  "For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ."

Colossians 2:13,14  "And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us.  And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."

John 5:24  "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears
My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."

These are but a small list of the Scriptures which demonstrate the realities for us under the New Covenant.  Won't you receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour today?  There may not be a tomorrow!   John 1:12 says  "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:  who were born, not of blood, nor
of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."  Becoming born again means that we repent (a total change of mind) of our sin of unbelief in Him, and turn to God and the provision He has offered in Christ Jesus. We trust Him for His forgiveness at the Cross, and then we receive His gift of New Life, available to all those who believe.  In return God said that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

The next vital step after receiving His gift of life and becoming born again is to become involved with some strong, Bible-believing Christians.  Christianity was never meant to be a private matter, but a Way of Life with like-minded believers! We need each other now, more than ever, in a lost and dark world.  Abundant Grace Fellowship (as well as many other Christian affiliations) provides just such a place, where you can come together with other Christians and be loved, strengthened and encouraged, as well as learn and explore God's Word!  Give God control of your life today and see what happens!!!
