Recommended Reading
There are more Christian materials out there today than at any time in the history of the world! This is both good and beneficial. However, as a friend who worked at a large Christian bookstore once told me, "There is a lot of heresy being passed off as Christian doctrine!" Since this is the case, it is vitally important to be discerning as we navigate the world of Christian books, CDs, movies, etc.
We have provided a short list of doctrinally sound Christian materials, many of which focus on the New Covenant, which will encourage you and help you to grow in the Lord! All titles are available in our bookstore, and we will be adding to this list from time to time.
Classic Christianity by Bob George, founder of People to People Ministries. (www.realanswers.net) This book has changed the lives of thousands of people, Pastor Brett included! Very easy to read and understand, as Bob explains the New Covenant!
The Naked Gospel by Andrew Farley, pastor of Ecclesia church in Lubbock, Texas. Mr. Farley is a fresh face among the Grace/New Covenant
scene! The Naked Gospel (www.thenakedgospel.com) is an AWESOME presentation of God's relationship with us and our relationship with Him!
Grace Walk by Steve McVey, founder of Grace Walk Ministries. (www.gracewalk.org) Steve McVey tells the story of how he was a very successful pastor, but then came to the end of himself as God changed his outlook and priorities!
Bo's Cafe by John Lynch, Bill Thrall and Bruce McNicol. Bo's is a fabulous story about true Christian relationships, restoration, and healing broken lives!!!
Grace Rules by Steve McVey. Steve's second book is an awesome follow-up to Grace Walk! He further explains that in God's kingdom - Grace Rules! This fact has awesome implications in our lives as children of the living God!
Growing in Grace by Bob George. Bob shows us how to experience the grace and life provided in Christ Jesus! There is a study guide in the back, which is great for small group study and learning!
Waking the Dead by John Eldredge, founder of Ransomed Heart Ministries. John focuses on the new heart which all Christians have received, and how to protect it! Vital reading for understanding our new heart, and spiritual warfare!
The Saving Life of Christ by Major W. Ian Thomas, founder of the Torchbearers. Although Major Thomas passed away in 2007 at the ripe old age of 93, his legacy lives on! He set the standard for those of us who read and write about grace and life today! This book explains that the normal Christian life is one of victory!
Revolution Within by Dwight Edwards, former pastor of Grace Bible Church in College Station, Texas. Dwight explains the treasures which all Christians possess, but may not know it! He explains how to work out what God has already worked in. A MUST for New Covenant reading!
My Father's Face by James Robison. Robison beautifullt explains that we all need to know and experience the unconditional love of a Father. He details his own experience from "wounded child" to "Man of God"!
The Heavenly Man by Brother Yun. This is an amazing and inspirational story about Chinese Christian Brother Yun and his family, and how God used them to reach China! Every Christian should read this one!
The Blessing by Gary Smalley and John Trent. Smalley and Trent explain how that we all want and need to be blessed, and that it is never too late to discover what the Bible calls "The Blessing"! A Must read!!!
The Silence of Adam by Larry Crabb. Larry explains how God designed men, and how they can reclaim their full potential of manhood. All men should read this one!
Revolution in World Missions by K.P. Yohannan. K.P. shares how God brought him from his remote Indian village to become founder of Gospel for Asia, and he explains a new paradigm for reaching a lost world!
